Hi Lee, I agree with you fully on this point. My question was, if you purchase a kit, isn't there an expectation that they are going to say "Build it this way". With the implication that this is appropriate quality of construction?

I would personally always build from plans, but much of that is because I take as much pleasure in the search for the right tool or wood or glass as I do in the actual building.
