Nick and I used to use a good quality 2x4 forthe strongback. One time when building the second boat off a form the form was slightly curved. I drilled two sets of holes on each form on the convex side. I then strung two strings, Starting on the stem forms, though the holes alternating each string from the inside hole on one form to the outside of the next (opposite for the second sting) to make a criss-cross pattern. when the strings were pulled tight, the entire strong back could be pulled straight again. Doing this on boath sides will stiffen the form and make it adjustable.
