I also flip the kayak several times during form setup. I can be sure of correct alignement and also spot poorly cut or misplaced forms. These are some things you might not spot without checking both hull up and deck up. Use temporary strips to check for fairness of curve. The more you check now the less time you will waste later. By using wire under tension you can increase the stiffness of the forms untill you get the first few strips on. I've also used the wire under tension method to remove minor warps in the strongback.
