I'm getting close to making a decision on my first kayak construction project. With a bit of a woodworking background, one of those beautiful strippers has considerable appeal, but I'm thinking I'll go with a S&G kit for my first boat. I think I have it narrowed to the Pygmy Coho or Osprey HP. Here's my question -- does anyone out there have any comments on the comparison between the performance of the two? I've read all the Pygmy literature and know what they say about their boats and will make the trip to Port Townsend to take them for a test drive, and would like to know as much as I can before I take the plunge. Also, I'm wondering how many hours one ends up spending putting together one of these from the kit. Thanks in advance for your help.
