The URL for the Southern California Kayak Builders website is

ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/btreecs/

Or, if this works, just click here.

This is a good tip from Dean as the site contains a registry of members' boats that include descriptions of the building process, how the finished boat performs, and the stuff Lee mentioned (size of paddler, intended use, etc.) Basically all the really relevant info.

I'm building my first boat, a CLC Chesapeake LT16 from the kit. And with no prior woodworking experience I'm very pleased with how well it's coming along. I will definately build the next one from plans now that I know that it's so do-able. But I don't regret starting out with a kit at all.

Best of luck. You're in for a very enjoyable experience.
