When you are looking at published boat widths, make sure to pay attension if it is the maximum width at waterline or just plain maximum width which actually tends to fall above waterline. My CLC boat is 24" wide above the waterline and is closer to about 22" at the waterline. it makes a difference where the width is measured vs. where it is reported. some manufacturers use one and some use the other. I think that most stripper designers tend to post both since the are important for different reasons.

I have found that my 24" boat seems to scream across the water and turns good when leaned however and it is 18 ft long.
