The Fall '94 Sea Kayker magazine has plans for a 18'x21" low-volume Greenland-style stitch-and-glue kayak. Back-issues are available at the Sea Kayaker website. There's a bit more work in building from plans only, but it's a good deal cheaper, too. I can't look up the site location at the moment, but if you do a search for the Southern California Kayak Builders website, there are some pictures of this boat that 2 individuals have built.
