Really, really light glass

I've just ordered some .75oz and 1.5oz glass from Raka to use for some "ding-protection" on the blades of any paddles I might build. I'll be trying one on a greenland paddle that's currently underway.

Has anyone used this light stuff? I figured I'd start with the .75 and if it seems too insignificant, I can add another layer. Just thought I poll around to see if anyone has thoughts on its effectiveness.
