I saw a picture of a good rip setup for a radial saw, they made a jig which held the work down from above, and lowered the blade through it. It was like a fence with a plywood hold-down dadoed into the side at 3/4" up from the table. Looked like it would work pretty well. I used to use mine for ripping until I got the table saw. It's harder to get consistent strip thickness with it. Careful setup will avoid kickback, but if it does kick it's deadly.
