Larry,

What was it about MDF that you didn't like. I used it on my expedition single and got good results. After I cut the forms out I covered all edges with black duct tape. This both helped the strips from sticking to the forms as well as giving the staples a little more holding power. The bigest complaint to MDF generally has been holding power and can also be helped by getting slightly longer staples.
