Hi Pete,

If you buy another router or borrow one you can make a table with two routers so that you can do the B&C at the same time. Just mount one upside down under the table with the bit running through a hole. The other one goes on top but is mounted on a platform so the two bits are at the same level. Space them so your strip will be the desired width when done, by making the top router adjustable.

One router is upside down so that the routers are turning opposite each other but as they are on opposite sides of the strip they both will both cut as you feed the wood in. Don't feed the other way as the finish will be terrible.

Build it out of a piece of 3/4 plywood and fasten it to a workmate or a couple of sawhorses.

If you make your strips with two passes (one for the bead and one for the cove) it is hard to get uniform strips. They are still good but double cutting is better.

You could take this one step further and make a box with four routers and just rough cut your strips and "machine" all four sides at once to whatever you set the routers to. This would take some time but I have seen it done with mouldings.

Good luck, Ian
