Thanks Shawn, not a bad idea - maybe even a beveled angle on the rear of the coaming. Do you have any ideas on how to recess the coaming on an S&G design? I've seen the recessed cockpits on strippers like the Guillemot, but how to do on plywood? Maybe you could gradually recess the rear part of the coaming enough till your lower spine just clears.
