Check to make sure you are using the proper respirator. If the hardener is an isocyanate a chemical cartridge respirator (activated charcoal) is not sufficient. Some peoples' tolerance to isocyanates is less than 15 minutes exposure and you only get one chance. Once sensitized the problems are for life and no further exposure can be tolerated. Use a paint suit, face mask, gloves and a positive pressure fresh air respirator.

With a few safety precautions the process is quite simple.
