I find a number of the sit ons to be cute, in a VW Beetle sort of way.

I've also found them to be very forgiving and easy when it comes to remounting them. A big plus for novices in the rental markets. They are also brain dead to operate. No thought, no "how to I put on a spray skirt" sort confusion. Just sit and paddle.

I found it significant that the only types of kayaks I saw around the napali (sp) coast of Kauai were sit on tops. I never did see anyone that had a boat with a spray skirt.
