The sheerline does not have concave sections. A lot depends on the individual strip. Some strips will lay right in place, others will complain the whole time. I often use 1/2" wide strips for the sheer just because they conform to the curvature more easily.

If the strip does not want to stay with just staples, try clamping it. It is also permissible to use a finish nail or small screw to hold particularly un-cooperative strips. They will leave an un-sightly hole, but you're making a boat, and since the epoxy will fill the hole, the boat will still float. A little schmutz pushed in the hole will make it virtually disappear.
