: Do you think that color would work in this method?
: Thanx, Steve

Color, in general, works the same as black. It should work fine.

BUT: In either case you want a pigment which will not get bleached out after spending an extended period of time in sunlight.

Natural color pigments, such as those derived from crushed minerals, are going to stay the same color, 'cause that is what color the mineral is. Rust (iron oxide) is going ot be brown, and not fade away, either. Carbon will stay black. And so on.

In general, dyes and inks used in many inkjet printers tend to fade. Some companies are making colors which are more permanent, though.

Dick Blick Art Supplies has "archival" ink artridges for epson inkjet printers. While these are designed apparently for creating high-quality photographic prints, they should be good for drawings. Their blurb says in part: "These inks are specially formulated for Epson desktop printers. The hybrid dye based-pigmented ink has an extremely high degree of UV and water resistance. "

If you have, or can borrow, an epson this may be for you.
