Veneer pins Do a similar job. They are easy to remove.

Do you drive them at an angle to keep the strip from 'sliding up' on the pin?
Do you have problems with the pins bending- I'm assuming you use a hammer?
What length pins do you use?

Further questions:
What' the thickness of a veneer pin vs a finishing nail?
Does anybody use an air nailer with pins (what gauge?) and a spacer to do this job?
