A change in humidity can make a huge difference to the shape.

I had a hull that was supposed to be 500mm wide. Each morning it became 600mm and after a day in the sun, it shrank to 400mm wide.

I just waited until it was the right width to join it and had no problems.

Warm sunshine on the unglassed timber side can make a big difference to the moisture level of the timber.

You might do it with some artificial heat source, but the key would be to do it very slowly with as little heat as possible. It would probably take a few hours.
