BTW, the coaming supports are total overkill in these plans. You are better off with a laminated deck beam up front, a bulkhead in the rear, and no beams running lengthways along the cockpit sides. Just lower the rear deck, and let the plywood take up the shape it wants to. The cockpit coaming rings will conform to the changing shapes and give plenty of strength on their own.

In addition, in these tortured ply designs deck hatches can be a bind. As you cut them the stresses in the ply change and the shape changes slightly. I would put a Beckson style hatch in the bulkheads rather than cut into the decks. Getting to the fore hatch can be difficult with small cockpits, so a pry out with a string on it is the way to go in the front bulkhead. Anything stored inside needs a string on it too, although the boats are lightweight enough that you can just pick it up and shake stuff out.

Sorry, another addition. If you use 4mm ply you will get a more parabolic section along the hull, which is quite nice for reducing the WL width for kids.

If you use 3mm ply the hull will take on a more rounded shape, which is aesthetically a little more pleasing perhaps, but does not seem to make much difference to handling.ET
