I started back in March 2013 on a Rob Macks Baidarka, which I have named "Beluga". Woods so far are Northern White Cedar, and Western Red Cedar.

First the bow and stern sections were made.

Then the bow and stern were aligned on the strongback, along with the hull station forms. Strings, laser and plumb bobs aided in the alignment.

I added three strips and decided I did not like the bow alignment. I had to remove them and realign the bow and start stripping again.

I used Titebond II for most of the stripping of the hull (and deck). Although, I use a lot of both hot glue and cyanoacrylate/accelerator that I had never used in furniture building.

After the hull was stripped, I printed the name out on rice paper and placed the name before the first layer of glass. The paper is essentially invisible.
