If you shrink with an iron, start with the lowest heat that'll get some tightening, then if you need to shrink it some more you can gradually add more and more heat. That's the biggest advantage of using an iron vs. using a heat gun, gives you multiple chances to get it truely snug. One shot only using a heat gun.
