I've been contemplating this exact same thing. I built an OI four years ago, and I love it, but I feel there is not enough room for my feet, they're constantly pointed down towards the bow and out. Kills my hips after awhile, plus I would like more room for carrying camping gear. I thought about adding two inches where my feet are and about an inch and a quarter in the back of the cockpit. When its full of gear for a week trip, the back of the deck is about level with the water.
