Have a good look at Sean's pic. That flat surface 'mold' for the cockpit area is a very important touch, if you want to avoid the 'swoopy' cockpit rim that some strip boats have. The spraydeck/sprayskirt will grip a flat cockpit rim much more securely, and you'll be able to get a watertight seal with less spraydeck tension, compared to a rim that has more curvature.
