: You asked for methods of work, so I'll share mine. After sanding,
: both epoxy and varnish coats, I use denatured alcohol and paper
: towels to wipe down my boats. It is simple and quick drying and
: leaves no residue that I can detect. I've found when wiping down
: with water, I can almost always go back over the surface with
: the denatured alcohol and pull more dust off of the surface.

: With the epoxy coats, I do very little sanding. I prefer to use a
: card scraper.

: With the varnish coats, I wet sand between coats with 400 grit. On
: my new boats I coat with about 7 layers of varnish. I typically
: re-varnish every other year with two or three coats. Once I
: start seeing the old shine again I just can't help myself.

Hello Eric,
I Use Epiphanes clear varnish so I called their technical support.
They use denatured alcohol to clean the boat prior to varnishing. They also assured me that the varnish will not peel on
contact with the alcohol.
My tack cloths are now household dust cloths.
