In Response To: Epoxy: Tack cloth - yes/no? (Douglas Lee)

: Hello forum members,
: I have read everything I can find on epoxy and varnish application
: after sanding clean-up before application of second - third etc
: coats.
: Some say do not use tack cloth prior to the applications because it
: leaves a chemical residue and causes the appearance to appear
: foggy.
: Some recommend using the tack cloth to remove all the fine sanding
: dust from the scratches caused by sanding with 220 grit/320grit.

: I have been using the blue shop towels dry to rub off all sanding
: residue after vacuuming the surface, which does an excellent
: clean-up job for the next coat.
: I would like the forum members opinion and input on this procedure.
: I am wondering if I am using the best technique of clean-up or
: is
: the tack cloth the way to go.

: Thank you. Douglas

Thanks guys,
It is now clarified. Yes with varnish and no with epoxy.
