: I'll have to admit I'm a Greenland Paddle sissy. When I first
: started using my new paddle the lake water was warm. Now its
: cold and the I just don't like that stroke by stroke trickle of
: cold water running down the paddle to chill my fingers. I bought

: to do with keeping the hands dry. So, after extensive
: experiments I rube goldberged the solution shown below. The
: little white strips are made from self-sticking weather seal
: tape. I'm sure I'm not inventing anything new or original, but
: it did keep my hands dry during today's paddle.

I have the drip issue when I paddle just right. Paddle real fast and the drips get flung off of the end. Paddle real slow and the water drips off at the end of the stroke. Paddle just right and the drip runs to your fingers. I think the Greenlanders always went fast or slow and found that that controls the drips just right. At SSTIKS two years ago we were taught to slightly pause at the back of the stroke to allow the water to run off. We were also told that it works better when the edges of the paddle are tipped in bone.
