: Not to take away from your fine work, but you can make drip rings
: out of bike inner tubes pretty easily. It involves two pieces
: per drip ring. Stretch a 4 inch piece over the paddle (which is
: really the hardest part of this) and onto the loom. Then take
: another 4inch piece and cut it open until its a flat square. Cut
: out a small hole in the center and stretch that over the paddle
: too. The uncut piece holds the ring tight to the loom.
: Warning... stretching inner tube over a paddle is a serious
: effort. Have patience and perseverance.

Sorry Scott, your bike tubes look about as third world as it gets. And from an authenticity standpoint, vinyl foam is much more likely to wash up on an arctic shore than an inner tube. Once picked off the beach the foam will quickly be put to use for paddle drip restrainement.

With a little bit of coloring my thing will look like its part of the wood. I suppose the tubes could be camouflaged by covering them with contact cement then dipping them into a bowl of hair, voila, animal hide.
