I use two factory reject flush doors that I picked up from a lumber outlet for less than $5. I set them on four plastic folding saw horses. They have an advantage of being movable to support a curved piece for planing. They are easy to clamp pieces to with one-hand clamps. And when I'm done, they store in very little space. I've used these to build three kayaks in the past two years and expect to build several more. -Wes
