Nay, I say, you've got me all wrong! Matterafack, age-wise I'm bound in the dread limbo that exists between supple youth and wise elder status. Retired, perhaps, but only to the extent that I got laid off one too many times, in Jan. 1999, and gave up on real jobs. Or in other words, I'm not really old and decrepit, I just act that way a lot.

Very recently I was showing my boat to a group of folks and fielding the usual comments ("How long did it take?" "Do you ever sell them?" "How do you make it look so much like wood?!"). One of them observed "I don't think I'd have enough patience to do something like that" (another very familiar comment). My stock reply was "I don't have enough patience to watch TV."
