Great idea, Joy. You may want to wrap the loop going to the toggle or tape it, or add some heat shrink tubing so there is only one line to the toggle. If you get fingers in the loop while being tossed about in surf or heavy seas you could be permanently mangled. It is harder to paddle with a few digits missing.

Another option is the stopper knot, aka the double overhand stopper knot. These will not loosen. If you want to replace your toggle you will have to cut the line and use a new one. Run one line to your toggle and use the stopper knot on the back side of the toggle. Here is the ultimate site for knots. It is animated and will have you tying many, many knots in moments.
