I use these cheap $5 cutting boards I buy at the Chinese supermarket for all manner of stuff--including as cutting boards.

It makes great flexible feather boards, lower friction surfaces--if one thing needs to slide over something else. Haven't used them
as rub rails, but I'm sure they'd be good.
I've never glued it, always drilled and used screws. Don't have a clue how to glue it.
