: I bought (rather than made) my first kayak this winter- a Wavesport
: EZ-G that looks a lot like your S+G playboat. I wouldn't mind
: building a WW kayak of this type- the EZ-G is a river
: runner/play hybrid, but seems to be a bit better for the play
: than the river, which is fine for me. My local river has more
: park-and-play and
: river stuff gets to be a drive. Can you get in touch with more info
: on the kayak?

Hi Mike
The s&g ww playboat ‘facetious’ was made as an initial proof of concept as well as to match specific desires that I had. The basic dimensions are 6-8L x 2-2W x 1-1H at 52 us gallons.
I’m sorta largish so I wanted a large ckpt that I can enter over the CB without swamping in awkward river entry conditions (don’t want to slide into the water and remove to much epoxy, heh heh), large foot bumps as I sometimes get killer calf and foot cramps, as large as possible planing area (for the boatsize) plus a little larger than usual upturns to minimize pearling and for staying on steep waves.
The main usage is as a flatwater or pool playboat, but there is some usage for the situations above in known river sections that have nice roundish rocks and good waves.
Although facetious is now a series, they still have compromises based on the factors mentioned.

‘spurious 5d’ is more along the approach you mention. Its size is 6-7L x 2-2W x 1-1H x 55 USgal. And one heck of a lot easier to make as bending is substantially reduced from that of facetious.
