: . . . Does anyone
: have a specific material that they have found disappears behind
: epoxy, can be printed on with a laser printer and is compatible
: with glass/epoxy. Is there any specific brand or place where I
: can get onion skin paper or other recommended material.

Try http://www.lazertran.com

They have a variety of 'waterslide' papers which you can use in laser or inkjet papers. One version dissolves in turpentine. Apply the decal to wood, paint on a thin coat of turpentine and the decal dissolves away, allowing your image to soak into the wood. Way cool.

Not the cheapest material around but you can get a lot of decals from one sheet if you plan ahead.

With all decals minimise the background by trimming close to the lettering.
