: think it could be a bit narrower as well - to make it a better
: roller. It also might be a bit easier to build than the Sea Flea
: as the bow and stern don't need the stem pieces.

I went looking for lumber this evening, and couldn't find good 12' lumber for a good price. I found some cheap clear straight grain 1"x4"x10' white wood for dirt cheap. I decided to go for a shorter kayak for Sam. White wood is not the best, but it should last a few years before he outgrows it. It has pitch oozing out of places, and looks like it might be pine. I still need to get some 12' boards for Sadie's kayak. I already have the plywood.
