I built my trailor using the rear axel and coil springs and shocks from a plymouth K car. 14 inch tires. Hauls 6 canoes , or as many Kayaks as can be stacked on their sides (3/side on each bar of the tree)

the bars are 1.25 inch heavy wall square tube and the tongue is 12 feet to the axel.
