: small. In order to give your boats a smooth, safe ride the suspension has
: to be compliant to that load. If the suspension doesn't compress enough on
: the bumps the whole thing could get airborn at speed and shake the tar out
: of your stuff. Sometime back a guy converted a 4X4 Harbor Freight trailer
: into a 4 kayak hauler. Even with a full load of boats and gear the double
: leaf springs were too stiff.
: On a top of the line aluminum kayak trailer they have small motorcyle wheels,
: trailing arms and properly sized motorcycle spring/shock absorber units.

: "It only costs alittle more to go first class."

That aluminum trailer that's supposedly "first class" isn't. They are built in China and they've had some very serious quality control issues. That and they bounce something terrible due to flex in the aluminum tongue.
