If you have access to mylar film, that is ideal as it is thicker than saran wrap and won't wrinkle as easy. Old transperancies for overhead projectors or old plans from an engineering firm are sometimes available. (it helps to work at the firm or know someone who does.)

: This in relation to a SOF Wee Lassie and the rub strip I intend to use. A
: recent post showed how to use kerfs to bend a 1/2 inch piece of wood. We
: figured out that filling it with epoxy would be strongest. I would be
: molding the rub strip after the boat is skinned and coated to make a
: perfect fit. I would not want to epoxy the strip to the boat however. This
: is the only time I would be using epoxy and mold release, so I don't want
: to buy anything for a one time use. My idea would be to put saran wrap on
: the boat and covering it with butter to create a mold release.
: Would the saran wrap and butter work?
