On the other hand, bleeder film has lots of small holes to allow the excess resin to be squeezed/sucked out. So if you wanted a smooth finish, all you need to do is lightly sand the small resin spots that will be left proud from those holes once you've peeled it off, and you're done.. You'd be no further behind in terms of a clear finish than the usual fill coat method, and considerably further ahead with a smooth filled finish to start off with.

No good for a strip boat though, as the film I've used isn't deformable to fit compound curves. It would work very well on a S&G.
