Epoxy: fiberglass for finishing

Has anyone used really light weight fiberglass to get a smooth finish? I've found a supplier with excellent prices, but I've not gotten the cloth yet and won't recommend them until I have a chance to see what I've bought. But they also have some glass that's really light in their catalog. Thought that this stuff (some as light as 1/2 ounce per yard) and very fine weaves, might make for really easy finish work on our projects. Anyone tried this? Is it worth the effort?
