Some rambling thoughts: Many years ago I got a bunch of Craftsman tools donated to work on a non-for profit project. The free tools cost me a lot of money before I was done. Go to any wood shop and look at their tools. They spend more money up front because the can not afford the cheaper tool

Porta Cable has been the standard for routers. I have 3 and can not say enough good things about them

Having said that I just bought a Rigid router at Home Depot. I think it will be my new go to tool. Soft start up, very comfortable and and lifetime warranty is hard to beat

In fact I am slowly replacing all hand tools with Rigid because of the warranty
Having multiply routers is nice when you can set one up and leave it.

Unless you have one foot in the grave, invest for the long term, this stuff is addicting and you will be happy
