Hi Ken,

I've got an old Delta planer, the current model of it is the TP305. It's been a real workhorse. May not be the newest and greatest but it continues to do the job and the available dust hood (along with a dust blower) works quite well at handling the vast quantity of shavings this thing produces. Now days they are fairly cheap too.

They call it portable too, but it's around 90 lbs. so it's not really all that portable, mine stays bolted to the accessory stand.
