That is a brilliant point, and one I hadn't considered!

I'm sure there is a way around it somewhere - perhaps I'll save that piece of deck for a retrofit once I come up with a solution.

You're not wrong.. especially when it comes to using the heat-gun! Still, I find this building process quite relaxing, and thought promoting.
