On three Yost style non-traditional SOF kayaks, I've used (brass) screws to hold the frames together while the epoxy cured, and then I left those screws in place. So far, so good . . . .

And, my wood framed, non-folding "Yosties" do indeed flex in waves. Not a whole lot, but noticeably, which is not something I've noticed in the S&G kayaks I've built.
The folding (aluminum framed) Yost Sea Tour I built flexes plenty!
