Since you already have Thules I'd be looking at their crossbars and risers. I've got a Hyundai Santa Fe and the factory crossbars are only really good for light things like skis. I use Yakama crossbars and their mounts to the factory longitudinal supports. The Highlander's supports should be plenty srong enough for that too. I've carried 3 boats on the roof so far, but usually use the trailer

The 100 lb. limit is for the fairly light factory crossbars, not the lengthwise supports. (don't know what the warranty issue would be though)
