Ken - As Chip points out, you need a table only at the start. What worked for me was to make a pair of 10' staging decks which I need for working around my old house. Cut a 4 x 8' in half, and picked up scrap to complete the deck, which is 10' 3" x 2'. Screwed both 2 x 8 pieces and 1 end to good 2 x 4s, leaving one end panel off for now. I offset the 2 x 4s under the ply so that the decks telescope into each other. Made up a pair of the typical frames seen here on the forum, set them under the ends of the deck assemblies, and a Work Mate to hold up the centre. Bit of levelling, and I was done!
