I belive HD sells McClosky brand and Varathane brands. If the cans say UV protection with exterior they will be fine. Someone on the board said some of the more $$$ varnish has more UV filters. When I was a boat painter we alway figured in recoating once a year and a complete stripping every seven years. If you want really nice bright work you had Acarlon covers over the natural and prefered was a cover to the water line.
There was a posting earlier about using different gases on top of the left overs.
