Bruce - I used 1/2" diameter magnets on my setup, and drilled the magnet recesses in the lid using a 1/2" straight bit in the router. It is scary! The recesses in the lips were created during the lip molding process. Next time, I'll make sure the exposed side of the magnets are covered with a layer of 4 oz. cloth. Epoxy alone gets scratched, worn, etc. and then the magnets rust, REAL FAST.
