In Response To: Strip: Hatch Magnets (Bruce McCoy)
: How the heck do you
: drill 1/8" deep holes 3/16" material without blasting through
: the other side? I have thought of adding additional layers of glass at the
: underside of the hatches so that there would be added thickness to work
: with. I've also thought of chucking up a router bit in the drill press,
: but that seems a little scary as well. Plunge router? Yikes...
A router is an increadibly fast way of making mistakes... but in this case, it should be an ideal tool.
anohter way is to get a 3/16" forshner (i.e. flat bottomed ) bit and using a coller on your drill. ( I usually make my own for something like this )
