Eric, the AT14 has a distinct transition to lean that beginners might interpret as tippy, like the Merganser, but it's got a lot more boat sitting high out of the water that a skilled 150lb paddler would enjoy taking over and tossing around. er, I mean it's a stable boat, Chesapeake 14 has more initial stability.
Do you think you'll design a Merganser for the crowd that's smaller than the Merganser 16 sized paddler? I like the low windage shape and imagine a boat with a length/beam of 14'x21" or therabouts, less volume than a Wilderness systems Tchaika, similar to the Pygmy Osprey volume 13 but skinnier. It's easier to tell the designing types what I like than figure it out!
