In Response To: Play boat (Matt Blumenthal)

: I want to build a stripper this winter. What I actually want is a playful
: boat for rock gardens and bumpy coastlines. I weigh about 200lb. I have
: been looking around, and most of the plans that I see are for long boats.
: I was thinking short and sporty. Something like a Coaster.

: Any suggestions?

You are right, there is not a lot out there. You might take a look at John Winters' 'Tasman Sea' design. It is short (13 1/2 ft) and supposed to be sporty. I have not heard any reports on how it paddles. The plans are sold by Green Valley Boats.
